Soo Theatre is pleased to announce a fall concert featuring New Horizons Adult String Orchestra, under the direction of Dottie Case & Maggie Twining, Cantus Celli, directed by Maggie Twining, and the Soo Community Band, directed by Joseph Arendt.
Cantus Celli is an adult cello ensemble that will perform works by Dancla & Mozart, along with "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" and "America the Beautiful." New Horizons will perform "An Irish Suite," "Tancuj," and A Tribute to the Armed Forces.
New Horizons is made up primarily of adult string players who took up their instrument in their adult years. It is a world wide organization that encourages learning in adulthood and finding the joy of making music in community goups.
The Soo Community Band is relatively new to the Soo Theatre and is open to High School students, college students, and adults from all over the EUP. Under Arendt's direction, they will perform "Darklands Symphony" as well as the "American Heritage March."
