Private lessons in dance can be arranged.  Additional classes may also be offered if there is enough interest.

Participate with your child in musical activities that foster creative development through singing, listening, moving to music and playing instruments.  Parent/caregiver attends class.

Imaginative expression will be explored through instruments, singing, chanting, movement and storytelling.  Parent/caregiver attends class.

For beginning piano students in a class setting. No prior experience is necessary. Must have a piano or keyboard for at home practice.

Class limited to 8 students.

THEATRE

Stage-fighting Workshop

June 30- July 5   $48

For middle and high school students

Orion Couling, instructor

Learn the secrets of stage fighting in a two day workshop, June 30 and July 2, 6-8 pm.  The workshop will culminate in an on-stage production Sat. July 5, 7:30 pm.

 

 

ARTS DAY CAMPS

Musical Theatre Day Camp

Two weeks:  July 7-18   $150

Mon. through Fri. 9 am to 3 pm.

For middle school and high school students (grades 6-12)

No previous experience is needed.

Enrollment is limited to 30 students.

Be a part of the musical theatre production, “The Best Little Theater in Town,”   The camp will be directed by Dottie Case and Dianna George. Students will bring a sack lunch.

The performance of “The Best Little Theater in Town” will be Friday July 18, 7 pm. on the Soo Theatre stage.  Admission will be $5 per person. 

 

Elementary Musical Theatre Camp

One week:  July 28-August 1   $75

Monday through Friday 9 am to 3 pm.

For children who have completed grades 1-5  No previous experience is needed.  Enrollment is limited to 30.

Join the fun mixing music, dance, acting and art into an amazing musical play, “This Old Gingerbread House.”  Instructors will be Dottie Case and Nancy Powers.  Students will bring a sack lunch. 

The musical performance will be Friday August 1, 2 pm. on the Soo Theatre stage.

 

Elementary Arts Exploration Camp

One week: July 21-25  $75

Monday through Friday 9 am to 3 pm.

For children who have completed grades 1-5   Enrollment is limited to 30. 

No previous experience is needed. 

Take an adventure around the world through music, dance, storytelling, creative writing and art. Come sing and play music using the piano, recorder, boomwhackers and other instruments. Write stories, do art work and learn dances inspired by life in countries around the world. Instructors will be Ronda McGreevy and Linda Warrington.  The camp will conclude with an open house for families Friday July 25, 2 pm.

 

YOGA CLASSES

Registration

Registration is taken in person at the STARS office, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Payment is due at the time of registration. Registration forms are also available at our website.  Classes are contingent on minimum enrollment.  STARS accepts cash, personal local checks, VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.

 

Registration for a class, camp or private lesson equals commitment to the instructor for the term. Refunds of tuition will only be made in the case of serious barriers to completion of a course, such as moving out of the area or an extended illness.
