Nancy Powers
Nancy Powers wears two hats at the Soo Theatre:
teacher of violin, viola and cello and director of the “Not
Quite Ready for Prime Time” Players (an adult string ensemble)
and director of STARS. Mrs. Powers has taught strings in public
and private schools in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. She has
also worked in arts administration for community arts schools in
suburban Chicago and western Michigan. She plays violin with the
Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, the Marquette Symphony and the
Sault Symphony. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree
from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a Master of Music
Education degree from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
